This flag pole was salvaged from the Midway Motel two winters ago. It stood beside the "no vacancy" sign. It is a family heirloom for Butch. He painted it and it now stands in our front yard. Real flagpoles, like this one, have a swivel top so that flags don't get twisted with the wind.
The flag is from my Dad. He was very patriotic, and loved displaying a flag on holidays. This flag is not just one printed piece of fabric, but stripes, sewn together. The stars are embroidered. It is a treasure!
A great memorial to three wonderful people in our lives: Gertrude, Uncle Hilary, and Edwin.
